The position to be filled is within the Construction and Procurement department of the Qair group in Montpellier, reporting to the Construction and Procurement Director. As a Contract Manager, you will be responsible for drafting and negotiating supply and construction contracts, particularly for the construction of green hydrogen plants, supporting the team dedicated to H2 projects. Your role covers both national and international territories and involves multi-renewable energy projects. You will collaborate closely in English with international suppliers.

The position is based in Montpellier, with occasional national and international travel required.

Main Tasks

The Project Contract Manager’s mission is to support the construction project manager during the procurement phases and assist in drafting and monitoring the application of the contract throughout the project.

Attached to the construction department, he/she will support the prescribers within the operational business units. He/she will implement and coordinate the necessary means and processes to manage the financial and legal risks involved.

The main responsibilities of the Contract Manager:

– Analyze, study, and understand the project in its entirety;
– Support the procurement phases from the call for tenders to the determination of the final contract price at the end of execution:
– Assist the operational business unit in analyzing needs and developing the procurement strategy;
– Support the construction project manager in the preparation of administrative documents for the consultation package;
– Contribute to the analysis of bids on administrative and contractual aspects.
– Support the construction project manager in the conclusion of contracts:
– Draft the contract and participate in its negotiation and amendments (scope changes, disputes, penalties, etc.) based on the analysis of the technical and commercial proposal and the project needs;
– Ensure the consistency of contractual clauses;
– Identify risks (contractual, legal, commercial, financial, scheduling, project interfaces, etc.) and propose mitigation measures.
– Support the operational business unit in responding to technical and legal due diligence;
– Support the project manager in the implementation of the contract:
– Oversee administrative follow-up (milestones, deliverables, approvals, payments, etc.);
– Propose potential opportunities to improve contract and supplier performance, generating and negotiating the corresponding amendments;
– Intervene in the event of contractual deviations (notifications, correspondences, analyses, variations), confirmed risks (additional costs, scheduling, subcontracting, etc.), conflicts, or crises; participate in the preparation of litigation files and legal expert assessments.
– Establish framework agreements for standard products (Tube trailer, H2 Station, PV module, Inverters, etc.);
– Contribute to the continuous improvement of the procurement procedure by conducting a review and feedback analysis of past contracts.

Skills Required

– Contract drafting and negotiation;
– Risk management through mapping and monitoring (qualitative, budgetary, contractual, and scheduling risks);
– Knowledge in industry, construction, and the energy sector;
– Understanding of regulated private procurement procedures;
– Team spirit and strong interpersonal skills;
– Strong analytical and reporting abilities;
– Organization, coordination of various stakeholders, and priority management;
– Ability to analyze the prescriber’s request, project needs, risks, and opportunities;
– Competence in managing commercial disputes;
– Familiarity with current regulations;
– Proficiency in office software (word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, etc.);
– Fluency in English is mandatory.

The following skills will help distinguish your application:

– Proficiency in a third language besides English and French;
– Advanced legal or commercial knowledge with expertise in Procurement, typically acquired through a technical Bac+5 education;
– Advanced knowledge of project management markets for intellectual service providers and work markets in private procurement, usually obtained after at least 5 years of experience in the field.
