Qair signs the final agreements with the government of Chad for two solar plants of 15 MW each in Ndjamena

The meeting took place in the presence of the Minister of Energy, Ms. Ramatou Mahamat Houtouin, the Minister of Finance and Budget, Mr. Tahir Hamid Nguilin and Mr. Marc Galinier, Sub-Saharan Africa Director of Qair.

Two PPA have been signed with the national company of electricity for each project, a framework agreement specifying the terms of collaboration between the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Finance and Qair, as well as an agreement specifying the customs and tax regime applicable.

The signing of these contracts formalizes the start of a long collaboration between the Chadian state and Qair as well as a common desire to provide reliable and low-cost energy for the Chadian population.

These two solar power plants are expected to be commissioned in 2022, following a ten-month period of construction. The power plant will be located in the city of Ndjamena, districts of Lamadji and Gassi.
