These two units of 48.11 MW pave the way to a 440MW solar complex in Icó

Qair plans to build a solar complex in the state of Ceará, Brazil, wich will eventually consist of ten plants totaling 440 MW. Its first two units of 48.11 MW each have been approved in the last auction of the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel).

The UFV BOM JARDIM I and III project located in the town of Icó, in the state of Ceará, should start operating by January 1st, 2026.

BOM JARDIM I and III are the company’s first projects in Brazil to be traded on the regulated market. Qair’s intention for the complex is to have a mix of regulated and a free market contracts.

About the location

Ceará has already established itself as one of the main producers of renewable wind and solar energy in Brazil. The volume of projects registered in the State confirms this position. The direct consequences are the attraction of quality investments and the generation of employment and income, especially in the construction phase of the plants.

These projects, initially planned on the coast and relocated inland will also have a positive social and economic impact in these locations.
