Implemented by Qair Deutschland in collaboration with Stadtwerke Leipzig GmbH and Intilion, the project marks a significant milestone in the renewable energy sector. The large-scale battery storage system, with a capacity of 3.7 MWh, complements the 13.5 MWp solar park by temporarily storing generated energy.
The ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of Minister-President Michael Kretschmer and key project participants, including André Haubrock (CEO of Intilion), Heike von Heyden (CEO of Qair Deutschland), Karsten Rogall (Managing Director of Leipziger Stadtwerke), Marcel Werner (Project Manager at Leipziger Stadtwerke), Charles Lhermitte (COO at Qair Group), Simon Ruckinski (Head of Operations at Qair Deutschland), Franck Polhaus (Head of Photovoltaics at Qair Deutschland), Michael Feist (Regional Manager Project Acquisitions at Qair Deutschland), Alen Schiffner (PV Project Manager at Qair Deutschland), and Jochen Nussle (CIO of Qair Group).
The Priestwitz project features:
- Approximately 36,000 solar modules
- Generation of 14,000 MWh of energy annually
- Equivalent consumption to power 4,000 households
- Annual avoidance of 9,500 tons of CO2 emission
Qair remains committed to pioneering innovative solutions in renewable energy, and the Priestwitz project represents a significant step towards sustainable energy practices.
