Battery storage: Qair establishes its position in the European storage market with first two secured projects in Poland

Paris, January 28, 2025 – Renewable energy company Qair secures two 100 MW / 400 MWh energy storage projects in Poland, marking an important step in its strategic growth as a key player in the European storage market.

Poland at the Forefront of Qair’s Storage Ambitions

As part of the latest capacity auctions of 2024, Qair has successfully secured two energy storage projects located in Kowala and Radkowice, Poland.

The newly contracted projects will feature a combined power output exceeding 200 MW and an energy capacity of over 800 MWh. This capacity will ensure a stable and secure electricity supply for approximately 50,000 households

These long-term agreements span up to 17 years, representing the maximum duration allowed under the Polish capacity market mechanism and solidifying Qair’s commitment to delivering reliable energy solutions in the region.

A Robust European Storage Portfolio

Poland’s strategic importance to Qair’s portfolio aligns with the company’s expansive ambitions in energy storage across Europe. With projects in development in ten  countries—Poland, Germany, France, Spain, the UK, Italy, Romania, Montenegro, Iceland and Greece—Qair is building a robust and diversified storage network.

Currently, Qair’s storage development portfolio includes nearly 8 GW of power capacity which will be capable of delivering up to 20 GWh of energy. The Group continues to invest in solutions that meet the growing demand for energy while supporting the transition to sustainable electricity systems.

By balancing demand and supply efficiently, these projects play a pivotal role in ensuring grid stability and empower Qair to offer highly adaptable and tailored energy solutions to its customers across Europe.
