Paris, 14 May, 2025 – Independent renewable energy company Qair announces the launch of a new photovoltaic power plant in Rokietnica, Poland, equipped with innovative tracking technology. This project underscores Qair Group’s commitment to accelerating the energy transition through technological innovation and long-term partnerships across Europe.
A Strategic Step Toward Qair Group’s Global Growth Ambitions
The 30 MW Rokietnica plant marks Qair’s third-largest solar development in Poland and plays a pivotal role in the Group’s strategy to scale its renewable footprint in Central and Eastern Europe. Alongside its existing 500 MW of installed capacity in Poland, this new installation contributes to Qair’s broader ambitions in the region, which include more than 1 GW worth of projects under development in Germany and Romania. These efforts collectively align with the Group’s roadmap to reach 3 GW globally across key markets by 2027, fostering regional collaboration for a low-carbon future.
Driving innovation across Europe
The Rokietnica solar plant marks a new benchmark for renewable technology deployment in Poland. Qair has integrated the Optimum Tracker system, a French-engineered solar tracking solution that allows panels to follow the sun’s trajectory from east to west, significantly enhancing electricity production throughout the day. This cross-border innovation reflects Qair Group’s ability to transfer and scale proven technology across its global assets.
Building Local Roots Through Education and Community Engagement
Located on university-owned land, the Rokietnica solar plant will serve as an educational and research hub in partnership with the Poznań University of Life Sciences. It will provide students with hands-on experience in renewable energy and support biodiversity studies, reflecting Qair Group’s commitment to community engagement and environmental stewardship.
Shaping Corporate Decarbonisation through Long-Term Partnerships
The energy generated at Rokietnica, sourced entirely from renewable energy, has been secured under a corporate Power Purchase Agreement (cPPA). This agreement reflects Qair Group’s global strategy of enabling the private sector to play a direct role in the energy transition. By offering reliable, long-term access to competitively priced green electricity, Qair supports businesses in meeting their sustainability goals while fostering stable investment conditions for renewable infrastructure across its markets.
