Fragolab

The Fragolab project is an agrivoltaic installation designed to optimize strawberry production while generating renewable energy.

Fragolab: Innovative Agrivoltaic Technology

The facility is located in the Vaucluse department and covers an area of 0.2 hectares.
Its dynamic, agronomically controlled, semi-enclosed, raised shading systems will produce around 245 MWh of electricity per year, which is equivalent to the annual consumption of 110 people.
Strawberries are cultivated under different configurations of photovoltaic panels and in a chapel. The effects of each configuration on strawberry production will be analyzed and compared to determine the optimal growing conditions for strawberries and associated electricity production. This experiment will be conducted over the course of two years.
In partnership with Insolight, Qair inaugurated Fragolab, the first semi-translucent and controllable agrivoltaic chapel for strawberries in France.
