Wrocław, February 7, 2024 – Qair has entered a 10-year cPPA agreement with Decathlon to supply energy to its chain sports stores in Poland. Effective since the beginning of 2024, the contract ensures the delivery of green energy and guarantees of origin at a level of several GWh per year, aligning with Decathlon’s energy consumption profile. Qair Obrót serves as the balancing entity, with a unique feature being the inclusion of energy generated by Decathlon’s internal PV installations in the balancing process.
The contracted energy is sourced exclusively from renewable sources and includes a 10-year package of guarantees of origin for renewable energy.
Qair Obrót, a subsidiary of Qair, was launched two years ago with a license to operate as an energy trading company in Poland. It manages energy from a portfolio of wind and photovoltaic power plants owned by Qair Polska, with an estimated annual energy production of close to 1 TWh. Complementary technologies enable the entity to customize offers to each customer profile.
This partnership marks the commencement of our new electricity trading business line, aimed at serving corporate customers more efficiently. The collaboration with Decathlon Group represents a significant milestone for Qair as we strive to become a comprehensive energy company. We initiated our collaboration with Qair over a year ago, seeking a partner capable of implementing the Decathlon Energy Model.
