Since 2018 Tryggvi Thor Herbertsson is the Executive Chairman of the Group’s Icelandic subsidiary, a member of the steering group for the Task Force for Carbon Pricing Europe and a Board member of VOR, the Icelandic hydrogen association.

Serving as Chairman of the Board for various Icelandic Qair entities since 2018, Tryggvi Thor Herbertsson is a former Member of Parliament in Iceland and a Professor of Economics at the University of Reykjavík and University of Iceland. As a member of Parliament he served on the Committee for Economics and Taxation and the Committee of Industries.

He has published over 50 scholarly papers and is the editor, author, and co-author of 13 books and monographs on various topics in economics. He has also written over 100 op-eds. in newspapers, both in Iceland and internationally, mostly on public policy and financial markets.
