Inaugurated by Nestlé Morocco, on February 16, 2021 by Moroccan Minister of Energy, Mines and the Environment Aziz Rabbah, the ground-based photovoltaic plant is installed on site at the Nestlé factory in El Jadida.
A project initiated in 2020
Signed in July 2020, the project took off the following August with the construction of the solar power plant on the industrial site and its commissioning four months later in January 2021.
With its 2,600 photovoltaic panels installed over 7,000 m2, the solar power plant will allow the Swiss company to eliminate one thousand ton of CO2 emissions per year.
Beyond the environmental considerations of the group, which aims a 50% reduction in emissions by 2030, the Qair solar power plant within the factory facility will allow a reduction in energy supply costs.
Bespoke corporate PPA – Power Purchase Agreement
As the owner of the photovoltaic plant, Qair will manage the facility’s operation and maintenance and provide green electricity during the entire period of the contract.
