Qair joins French president at the Élysée Palace for Choose France summit
Ahead of Eolmed’s inauguration, France’s flagship floating wind project, and first green hydrogen molecule produced by Hyd’occ
Paris, France – November 18, 2025 – Louis Blanchard, CEO of Qair, attended the closing dinner of the Choose France Summit’s “France Edition” at the Élysée Palace, alongside French President Emmanuel Macron, CEOs of France’s largest industrial groups, and government officials.
On this occasion, Qair announces two upcoming milestones for France’s energy transition:
These projects position Qair as a key player in France’s energy sovereignty and reindustrialization, with a strong local footprint in Occitanie and a pan-European offshore wind pipeline of 8 GW under development, including 1 GW in Scotland, Eolmed in France, and projects in Spain and Portugal.
30 MW capacity
80% Made in France and 100% Made in Europe
Deployment of a French industrial floating wind sector
Inauguration scheduled in the coming weeks
France’s largest green hydrogen plant
First green hydrogen molecule to be produced in 2025
Five distribution stations, with two successfully deployed in 2025
These projects align with the country’s strategy for reindustrialization and energy sovereignty. Through Eolmed and Hyd’Occ, Qair is helping transform Port-La Nouvelle into a major hub for the energy transition in the Mediterranean, supporting Occitanie’s ambition to become Europe’s first positive-energy region. The port, equipped with dedicated infrastructure (40 hectares, two 200-meter quays, and a storage basin for floaters), is already hosting the construction of Eolmed and another 30 MW pilot farm, paving the way for a 250 MW commercial wind farm by 2028. Backed by €800 million in investments from the Occitanie Region, these projects position the site as a key industrial hub for floating wind and green hydrogen, creating local jobs and bolstering France’s energy independence.
With 30 years of expertise and operations in 20 countries, Qair is a pioneer in renewable energy, developing tailored solutions for territories. The group employs 600 people across Europe and targets 3 GW of capacity by 2027.
«Our invitation to the Élysée Palace is a recognition of our commitment to 100% renewable and sovereign energy,» said Louis Blanchard. «Through innovative, renewable energy solutions such as Eolmed and Hyd’Occ, we are turning national ambition into tangible progress and helping industries choose France.»
