The Ayre floating wind farm will be situated at a deepwater site east of Orkney and north of Caithness. The wind farm is set to be composed of 40 to 60 turbines using next-generation technology in the range of 15 MW to 25 MW.

The project will play an important part in helping Scotland to achieve its target of carbon neutrality by 2045, while supporting Europe’s transition away from fossil fuels. In line with our commitment to involving local stakeholders, we will work hand-in-hand with the Scottish government, local communities and businesses to develop the necessary supply chain and expertise.

Ayre is currently in the development phase with environmental and technical studies progressing. Construction is expected to commence around 2030.
