Paris, 1 October 2026 – Renewable energy company Qair was honored to welcome Ms Jessica Larsson, Deputy Head of the European Commission Representation in France, and Ms Dubravka Lalović, Ambassador of Montenegro to France for a diplomatic visit to Reims. This visit aimed to illustrate the tangible economic, cultural, and human connections between France and Montenegro, particularly in the context of the EU enlargement process.
The event provided a platform for Qair to present its ongoing and future projects in France, particularly in the Grand-Est region, showcasing expertise in renewable energy that is being exported internationally, including to Montenegro.
From dialogue to demonstration
This visit builds on the momentum of previous exchanges, including the official visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Montenegro for the EU-Western Balkans Summit. During this summit, Qair was identified as a key partner for energy projects in direct discussions with President Macron and Montenegrin Prime Minister Milojko Spajić. The latter confirmed Montenegro’s intention to integrate Qair’s projects into the France-Montenegro Intergovernmental Agreement, which supports the country’s energy transition.
The visit to Reims was an opportunity for Qair to showcase its expertise, particularly in solar and wind projects, serving as a showcase of know-how that extends across France and internationally. Qair’s involvement in this diplomatic visit underscores its role as a bridge between French expertise and Montenegro’s ambitious energy goals to source 50 percent of its final energy consumption from renewables by 2030.
Qair’s Commitment to Montenegro’s Energy Future
Aiming to become one of Montenegro’s leading renewable energy producers, Qair remains dedicated to advancing sustainable, innovative, and locally beneficial energy solutions in Montenegro. To date, the company has secured urban planning and technical approvals for three solar projects and one wind project, totalling 250 MW of capacity. An additional 70 MW solar project is expected to receive technical approvals shortly.
This visit in Reims further solidifies the strategic partnership between Qair, France, and Montenegro, paving the way for concrete projects that will deliver long-term economic and environmental benefits to the region.
