Quadran Seychelles receives the notice of intended award for a 5 MW floating solar power plant

It will be the largest floating solar power plant installed on seawater in the world and the first project led by an Independent Power Producer (IPP) in Seychelles. The project will be located on the lagoon of Providence (Mahé).

The tender launched by the government in 2018 gave the best technical and financial score to the consortium made of Quadran Seychelles and Seychelles solar player VetiverTech.

The 25-year PPA contract with PUC is expected to be signed in February 2020, with commissioning expected by the end of 2020.

Quadran International which is in the Seychelles since 2015, has established itself as the top player in renewable energies in the country. The group develops several other solar projects that will help meet the Seychellois government’s objectives in terms of reducing dependence on fossil fuels from 2025.
